What we do in this course:
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is most widely recognised Lifeguard Qualification in the UK and Ireland and is internationally recognised. The course teaches the essential lifesaving skills and knowledge to work within a Swimming Pool environment. Approved by IQL (Institute of Qualified Lifeguards) the leading provider of Lifeguard training in the UK and Ireland approved and regulated by Ofqual.
Candidates must be a minimum 16 years of age. 100% attendance is required to be put forward for the final exam, ongoing competence and underpinning knowledge must be demonstrated to advance to the exam.
All Candidates must attend at least 36 hours contact hours which consists of physical training, theoretical classroom work, practical in-water and an out-of-water assessment on pool rescue, first aid, CPR and lifesaving skills.
The course price includes the following, the 9th Generation, one assessment, course resources and qualification certificate.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is valid for 2 years
Course Content & Structure:
The Qualification is divided into 3 sections –
- The Lifeguard, Swimming Pools and Supervision
- Intervention, Rescue and Emergency Action Plan
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AED and First Aid
All 3 sections must be completed to obtain pass grade. Post-assessment referred candidates have 28 days to be reassessed at an additional cost.
The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) qualification is optional, however, will be provided as a Bolt On to the NPLQ qualification. No discount will be given if the AED qualification is not taken.
